Description

This delicious Peach Cherry Salsa is a fresh and vibrant condiment that combines juicy peaches, sweet cherries, spicy jalapeño, and zesty lime for a perfect balance of flavors. Ready in just 15 minutes, it’s an easy no-cook recipe that adds a burst of color and taste to your meals, ideal for serving with tortilla chips, grilled meats, or tacos.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 2 peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup cherries, halved and pitted
  • Zest from 1 lime
  • Juice of 1 1/2 limes

Vegetables & Herbs

  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large handful cilantro, stems discarded and finely chopped

Seasoning

  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fruits and Vegetables: Peel and dice the peaches, halve and pit the cherries. Finely chop the garlic cloves, jalapeño pepper, red onion, and cilantro. Zest one lime carefully to add a fresh citrus aroma to the salsa.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the diced peaches, halved cherries, chopped garlic, jalapeño, red onion, cilantro, and lime zest. This creates the vibrant base of the salsa.
  3. Add Lime Juice and Seasoning: Squeeze the juice from 1 1/2 limes over the salsa mixture. Add salt to taste, then gently toss everything together to blend the flavors evenly without bruising the fruit.
  4. Chill and Serve: Let the salsa chill in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld beautifully. Serve fresh with tortilla chips, alongside grilled proteins, or as a zesty topping for tacos.

Notes

  • This salsa is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Adjust the amount of jalapeño based on your preferred spice level.
  • To make the salsa less spicy, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño before chopping.
  • Use ripe peaches and cherries for the best sweetness and flavor.
  • For a twist, add a small amount of finely chopped red bell pepper or cucumber for extra crunch.
