Description

Delight in these elegant and delicious Chocolate Covered Strawberries, a perfect treat for any occasion. Ripe, juicy strawberries are dipped in smooth, melted dark chocolate blended with a hint of coconut oil for a glossy finish. Chilled until firm, these bite-sized treats are simple to make yet impressively decadent.

Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the strawberries from sticking and to make cleanup easier.
  2. Wash and Dry Strawberries: Rinse the strawberries under cold water and dry them thoroughly with paper towels. Ensuring they are completely dry is essential for the chocolate to adhere properly.
  3. Melt Chocolate: Fill a small saucepan with about 1 inch of water and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Place a heatproof bowl on top to create a double boiler. Add the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil to the bowl and stir occasionally until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  4. Dip Strawberries: Holding each strawberry by the leaves, dip it into the melted chocolate, turning to coat evenly. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl. Place the coated strawberry on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with all strawberries.
  5. Chill: Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator and chill the strawberries for 30 minutes or until the chocolate is firm and set.
  6. Store and Serve: Enjoy the chocolate covered strawberries on the same day they’re made for the best taste and texture. If storing leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to achieve a smooth chocolate coating.
  • Use dark chocolate for a rich flavor or substitute with milk chocolate if preferred.
  • Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the melted chocolate for extra flavor if desired.
  • Serve the strawberries chilled to keep the chocolate coating firm.
  • Leftover chocolate can be stored in a sealed container and remelted for future use.
