Hi, I'm Kimmy!
Welcome to Eat With Kimmy—where food becomes a language of love, comfort, and stories told with every single bite.
How My Cooking Journey Began
I was ten years old when I accidentally cooked my first dish. My mom had left the kitchen door open that afternoon, and I wandered in carrying more curiosity than common sense.
There was an old recipe book sitting on the table—pages stained, corners folded, completely falling apart. I couldn't understand most of it, but there was this picture of vegetable soup on the cover that just called to me. I thought, "I can do that."
So I gathered what I thought were the right ingredients and threw everything together in a way that made sense to absolutely no one. The result? Definitely not soup. More like a thick, mysterious porridge that looked like nothing anyone had ever seen before.
But when my mom tasted it, she didn't laugh at me. She just smiled and said, "It's not perfect... but it's a beautiful start."
That one little sentence changed everything for me. Cooking wasn't about getting it right—it was about trying, caring, and staying curious. From that day forward, I never really left the kitchen.

The Road to Eat With Kimmy
As I grew up, I became that kid. The one baking cookies for every school event. The one packing extra sandwiches for friends because "people eat better when someone cares."
Eventually, I went to college for something completely unrelated to food. Got a stable job. Did the responsible thing. But my heart? My heart stayed in one place—somewhere between fresh basil and roasted garlic, between bubbling pots and well-worn wooden spoons.
I'd come home from work completely drained, but the second I started chopping onions or whisking a sauce, I came alive again. One evening, I cooked a simple meal for a friend who was going through a rough patch. When she took that first bite, her whole face changed. She smiled—really smiled—for the first time in weeks.
That's when it hit me: This is what I want to do. Cook... and make people feel something good.
Not long after, I quit my job and started Eat With Kimmy. Slow steps, but a full heart.
